Performance from Grass

The Lowerye flock of British  Charollais Sheep

We established the Charollais flock back in 1991, having seen what Charollais rams could do on our commercial flock of crossbred ewes and wishing to breed a few rams for ourselves.

The flock has since grown into one of the largest in the UK, specialising in breeding rams that will stand up to the rigours of low input sheep farming, producing lambs that grow and finish on forage diets.

We have also exported animals and genetics to many countries around the world, and Lowerye genetics have been incorporated into several composite breeding programs in the UK.

We farm just outside the picturesque town of Montgomery in mid-Wales. Visitors are always welcome, but we would ask that you let us know you're coming.

Signet performance recording:

We are currently ranked number one in the UK for terminal sire index, for gigot muscularity ebv and for lean weight ebv.
